Honduras & Canadian Rotarians
As a new Rotarian interested in international projects, and specifically microfinance, I was curious how people became involved and signed up on the insight trips I had heard about, specifically connected with microfinance, and how could I help to make the project come to life?

It was suggested that I should connect with Rotarians involved in current projects to see if there was a way I could help out, and that turned out to be great advice. Before I knew it, I was invited to meet with a group who was actively planning a micro finance project and on a plane to Honduras on my first insight trip.

Since then, I've assisted in the documentation and communications for the Global Grant project, received Foundation approval, and we now have the first part of $135,000 in microfinance funding underway for the Honduran people who need it.

My goal with these postings is to share my experiences of the learning curve and project action items, with the hope of helping other Rotarians to 'walk the walk' with the knowledge and confidence to achieve successful microfinance projects.

Sincerely,
Bev Chinnery
