Scott Ryall from Canada: First Place Winner
Thank you to everyone who supported this year's 2012-2013 Peace Photo Contest. It was a great success and we could not have done it without all of your ongoing help and support. The contest had over 180 submissions and we are proud to be part of such a dedicated and passionate Rotary community.

The Peace Photo Contest shed light on the notion that there are various meanings of peace. Some feel most at peace when they are with their family, in the presence of nature or are continuing cultural traditions. Others feel peace when they are traveling, fighting for social justice or reminiscing about past memories. It was this contest that allowed us to see how large of an impact peace has on our lives and become more appreciative of our surroundings.

Thank you all for allowing us to spread the various meanings of peace and connect with Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, Early Actors and Youth Exchange students all around the globe.

Also, congratulations to our first place winner Scott Ryall (Canada) and runner ups Melissa Evans (Canada), Tobie Costa (England) and Sheila King (Canada). You all had incredible photos and stories that reflected what you believe best symbolizes peace. Your photos that demonstrated your sincere gratitude to past soldiers, your dedication to humanitarian initiatives and social justice as well as your life changing volunteer experiences to Kenya and Thailand have been inspirations to us all.

Thank you again everyone- your help and support has been greatly appreciated and we look forward to your submissions in the years to come.

Sincerely,
The Peace Photo Contest
